NCIS Cast

NCIS!

After snagging the top spot on the airwaves in the U.S. for five consecutive seasons, NCIS' ratings domination has officially gone global.

CBS' long-running drama is now the most-watched drama in the world, the network boasted in a press release on Wednesday. NCIS received the International Television Audience Award for a Drama TV Series at the 54th Monte-Carlo Television Festival, which rewards the series that deliver the highest worldwide ratings in three different categories (Dramas, Comedies and Telenovelas/Soap Operas) across five continents.

"As NCIS enters its 12th season, we couldn't be happier to learn we're now the #1 drama in the world. It's no secret that determination and teamwork have allowed our cast and crew to continue to deliver a show we're truly proud of," star Mark Harmon and executive producer Gary Glasberg said in a joint statement. "We also know we wouldn't be here without the support and loyalty of the best fans in television. Thanks to our worldwide audience for helping us start the new season off right."

So just how many people around the world watched NCIS in 2013? Oh, just 57.6 million viewers.
One of those viewers just so happens to be one of the stars of the series, Pauley Perrette! "I'm so watching #NCIS rerun right now and am so excited about season 12," she recently tweeted. "I love my job."

NCIS, a spinoff from CBS' JAG, first debuted in 2003, and has launched two spinoffs, NCIS: Los Angeles and the upcoming NCIS: New Orleans.
