It's the most wonderful time of the year! NEW FALL TV SHOWS! I am reviewing each and every one of the new shows and will be posting them in chunks. Today it's the B and C Shows! (Click here If you missed the A shows!)

Backstrom (Fox) – MIDSEASON – Two words; Rainn Wilson. Fox calls this “subversive and comic procedural”. Wilson plays Portland’s Detective, Everett Backstrom, an “offensive, irascible detective who tries and fails to change his self-destructive behavior.”
My thoughts….too bad this isn’t on NBC so we could have a GRIMM crossover!
Bad Judge (NBC) – In this comedy, co-created by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and Anne Heche, Kate Walsh plays a tough judge in Los Angeles. Her private life is W.I.L.D! Partying and sleeping around. When the child of a couple she put in jail comes to her for guidance though, a bond is formed. He needs a little stability in his life, and she does too. It should work out as long as she remembers he isn't one of her drinking buddies.
My thoughts….The promo gave me the “ha-ha’s” and “the feels.” I will probably watch.
Battle Creek (CBS) – MIDSEASON – Produced by Vince Gilligan (creator of BREAKING BAD) and David Shore (creator of HOUSE), BATTLE CREEK is a drama about two detectives in Battle Creek, Michigan. It stars Josh Duhamel, Dean Winters and Kal Penn.
My thoughts…there isn’t a preview to watch online yet, and there isn’t too much info about this show yet to give you my thoughts. I did read that this show (the premise??) is very similar to HBO’s TRUE DETECTIVES
Black-ish (ABC) – Andre Johnson has it all: Wife, kids, house in the ‘burbs and a successful job…but he feels that they have lost some of their heritage. Creator Kenya Barris explains, “The show is about a black family – not about a family that happens to be black.”
My thoughts….Any family that has wanted to explore their culture will probably enjoy this show. It’s like they took that one episode from The COSBY SHOW and that one episode from A DIFFERENT WORLD and made an entire series about it. The first episode is funny.
Constantine (NBC) – Based on the wildly popular DC Comics series Hellblazer, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine (Matt Ryan) is armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and a wickedly naughty wit. He fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to abandon his campaign against evil until a series of events thrusts him back into the fray, and he'll do whatever it takes to protect the innocent. With the balance of good and evil on the line, Constantine will use his skills to travel the country, find the supernatural terrors that threaten our world and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.

This will be on Friday nights after GRIMM. (Which if you haven’t watched
GRIMM yet,
RUN! Don’t walk to Netflix and/or Amazon Prime
and binge watch it NOW to get caught up before October 24!) Crap! Looks like I’m not going anywhere on
Friday nights for a while!
Oh and by the by…as an added plus, the score for CONSTANTINE is by Bear McCreary…so you will have no choice but to feel what they want you to feel while watching this show! So far- doing the A’s and B’s- this is the first show that I am excited about.
Cristela (ABC) -- In her sixth year of law school, Cristela is finally on the brink of landing her first big (unpaid) internship at a prestigious law firm. The only problem is that her pursuit of success is more ambitious than her traditional Mexican-American family thinks is appropriate.
My thoughts…This looks like a female version of the GEORGE LOPEZ SHOW…which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Cristela Alonzo is a funny lady, and she says that she hopes to keep things “real” and portray a real person. That’s nice. If I watch this, it will be on HULU, since my Friday nights have been spoken for (See CONSTANTINE)
CSI: Cyber (CBS) – In this latest CSI spinoff, James Van Der Beek plays FBI Agent, Elijah Mundo; A self-proclaimed action junkie, who often put himself at risk to seek permanent justice. Patricia Arquette plays Special Agent Avery Ryan who will “level (Mundo’s) diehard behavior with her expertise in psychology.”
My thoughts… I think that CSI junkies will watch – just because it’s CSI. Also, I’m not gonna lie, I loves me some JVDB, and the whole “cyber” thing intrigues me. I’ll check it out. On HULU.
